Jessica and I were friends in college, sorority sisters at Union University.
I very clearly remember the first time Jessica contacted me about doing her wedding pictures. It was last summer, about a week after I launched my family photography business. Needless to say, I was still VERY insecure about where my photography was headed and if the business would succeed.
I believe the conversation went something like this...
"Me: Um... are you out of your mind? There is NO FREAKING WAY I'm going to be held responsible for your wedding pictures.
Jess: But Elizabeth, I've seen your stuff and I need someone I can trust.
Me: That's the problem- you can't trust me. No. I'm not doing them, but I'll help you find someone.
Jess: PLEASE?!?!? What do I have to do to make you change your mind??
Me: Ok... I MAY do it, but only if you promise that you won't be mad if I ruin the most special day of your life by butchering your photos."
Looking back, I think I
MAY understand what my husband means when he tells me I have NO confidence in myself. I'm working on that. :)
Now, I'm several weddings in and am finding that I actually LOVE IT. I have a lot of things to learn about the wedding business, but the former TV news producer in me loves the thrill of documenting a big, live moment. Not to mention, the joy of being able to capture the biggest moment in these couples' lives.
Jess, I thoroughly enjoyed being there for your big day. You and Chris are TRULY a great couple together. Thank you so much for believing in me from the very beginning. I hope you enjoy!
